Do you know the duties of parents according to the Word of God?
Modern society has many theories on how a parent should raise their child, some scientists have been dedicated to answering this question. We, however, are going to find out what the Bible says on the subject.
Look,
Teach
"Teach them persistently to your children. Talk about them when you are sitting at home, when you are walking along the path, when you lie down, and when you get up."
Deuteronomy 6:7
Teaching is, according to the dictionary, passing on teachings about (something) a; to indoctrinate, to teach, it is the role of parents to teach their children about values, life, convictions and not school or church.
"Instruct the child according to the goals you have for him, and even over the years he will not deviate from them."
Proverbs 22:6
provide them financially
Now I am ready to visit you for the third time and I will not be a burden to you, because what I want is not your possessions, but yourselves. Furthermore, children should not store up riches for their parents, but parents for their children.
relate wisely
"Fathers, do not treat your children so as to irritate them, but train them with the discipline and instruction that come from the Lord."
Ephesians 6:4
We, as parents, must know how to deal with our children individually, regardless of their age or personality.
"We will not hide them from our children; we will tell the next generation of the praiseworthy works of the Lord, his power and the wonders he has done" Psalm 78:4
control, govern
"He should govern his own family well, having his children subject to him, with all dignity."
1 Timothy 3:4
Love
"That way, they can guide younger women to love their husbands and children,"
Titus 2:4
The Bible says that one of the duties of parents is to instruct their child in the discipline of the Lord, as well as pass on to him His wonderful deeds. Spending time with children passing on this knowledge is very pleasurable and enjoyable, and we learn together with them.
Set aside periodic time for the family to educate their offspring.
Below are some suggestions for devotionals for children.

Jesus teaches us to be honest (from Clegg Dyson)
How many times have you told your child, "I told you to tell the truth," and the only response you got was a blank stare? As adults we sometimes expect children to have a better concept of truth and lies than they actually can. But, as they grow, these concepts become quite clear.
Dishonesty has become the best policy in the world! We see it on television, we hear it on the radio, we see it in the cinema. We often learn that a little lie avoids suffering. We are dishonest in the hope that we will do well in some situation.
Dishonesty is a learned sin. Young children are usually very honest. We need to teach honesty early on, show that the rewards of being honest outweigh the consequences of dishonesty.
Honesty can determine our eternal destiny, it is God's policy.
Reading: Luke 19:1-10
Questions:
1) Do you know why people didn't like tax collectors?
2) you Do you think they liked Zacchaeus?
3) What did Zacchaeus have to do to see Jesus?
4) What did you say to him?
5) Was Zacchaeus happy to be with Jesus?
6) What did Jesus decide to do after being with Jesus?
7) How did he show his repentance?
8) What did Jesus say about Zacchaeus and his decision?
Activity:
During family devotions, give examples of honesty and dishonesty. Talk about situations that relate to the family. For example: household chores. Do the kids do what they're told? Are you honest about it? Emphasize the consequence of not tell the truth. Discuss together the character of Jesus, teach that he always speaks the truth.

Say No to Evil (Becky Brand)
Before starting this devotional, take a large, clear glass containing clean water. Also take a bowl with soil and a spoon.
Put everything on the floor in front of the kids. Ask them to listen carefully as you read. "Like a fount that is dimmed and a fountain corrupted, so is the righteous that yields to the wicked." Proverbs 25:26
Make them think and tell you for what purposes we use clean water in our daily lives. They will say cooking, bathing, drinking, washing hands, etc.
Ask what it would be like if we only had dirty water to use. As they speak, put a spoonful of soil into the clean water. Now ask, "Who would like to use this water for drinking? Surely nobody will. Dirty water is not good, it cannot be used for good purposes.
Proverbs 25:26 teaches that when we surrender to evil, we become filthy. Our hearts become polluted by evil things. God wants us to be righteous. Explain the meaning of fair. Being fair means doing what is right.
Being fair can be illustrated by clean water. Help the child understand that when we are righteous we are used mightily by God, just as clean water can be used in many ways. Evil can be illustrated by dirty water. If we surrender to evil daily, we may not be used by God as we could be.
Use the glass of water to continue illustrating the evil polluting our hearts. Let them tell you how they can dirty their glasses. Next, give examples of what it is like to surrender to evil or bad influences around us. Example:
1) When our peers convince us to cheat on an exam or homework.
2) When we lie to our parents or teachers because other children do.
3) When we get together in a "little group" excluding classmates or other children from the group.
4) When we accept that someone steals toys, candy or chewing gum.
5) When we disrespect God because everyone around us does it.
6) When we surrender and try cigarettes, drinks or drugs out of fear of colleagues.
Examples may differ according to your children's age and needs. It's great to use examples of something you are currently working on in your children's character.
After they have listed the bad actions, go back to them one by one and ask the children to tell them what they should do when they are tempted in these situations. The answer is: say no.
Hold the cup of dirty water so the kids can see it. This cup is full of dirt, but a little dirt spoils everything. Remind them that when they surrender to evil and do wrong things, their hearts become dirty.
Yet we have Jesus who can cleanse us. 1John 1:9 He is the only one able to throw away the dirt and make the water clean again. We need to recognize, ask for forgiveness and decide not to do more.
